New Sale (Web) Guide
The web checkout -- open to admin, manager, and cashier roles: scan or search items, apply discounts and tax manually per line, and complete the sale.
Scan a barcode, type one into the scanner field, or search/click a product in the grid -- or narrow the grid first with the Category dropdown. Products with modifier groups open a picker first.
Result: The item is added to the cart at its regular price -- no discount is applied automatically.
Click "Discount / Tax" on a cart line to choose from the discounts that actually apply to that product, and set its tax to Auto, None, or a specific rate.
Result: The discount/tax only ever applies when you choose it -- nothing is guessed for you.
Set payment method, sales channel (In-Store, Food Panda, Grab, Other), and amount paid, then click Complete Sale.
Result: A receipt-style confirmation appears with change due, ready for a new sale.
New Sale on the web app is open to admin, manager, and cashier roles. The mobile POS app remains available to all three too, for offline-friendly selling.
Adding an item never auto-applies a discount. A discount only ever lands on a line when you open that line's Discount / Tax picker and choose one -- this avoids silently discounting sales.
Choosing Food Panda, Grab, or Other locks payment method and sets Amount Paid to zero, since those platforms collect from the customer and pay you out later.
Web checkout requires an internet connection, and each completed sale here charges your credit wallet immediately, scaled to the sale total (a small flat minimum on small sales, rising in step with larger ones, capped for very large sales). The exact cost is shown above the Complete Sale button before you click it. If the wallet balance is too low, the sale is blocked rather than completed uncharged -- top up before it's needed for a busy shift. The mobile app charges differently: nothing at the moment of sale, but every sync action afterward (see the comparison below).
Click Review next to the cart heading for a larger, more detailed view of every line -- same quantity controls and remove button as the sidebar, just roomier for a longer order.
Same roles can use either one (admin, manager, cashier) and the same checkout fundamentals apply (scan, discount per line, complete the sale) -- the two differ in what connectivity they need, when credits get charged, device limits, and whether a sale can be traced back to a branch.
